Unexpected orchard

So, on closer examination, just about every tree in the backyard is some fruit-bearing variety. I went 'round and looked at them all yesterday evening, and this is what I think we've got:

Apricot (nearly ripe enough to pick and eat), apple, mystery fruit that looks kind of like a small green apple, mystery citrus (probably orange or lime), grapefruit, pear, persimmon, and lemon.

I'm going to need to learn how to prune fruit trees properly, though.

Sweet! I have no words of wisdom on the gardening front, but you want to consider learning how to make jam/jelly as I bet you'll have a lot of fruits to do it with. :)

Yes, not all of the trees seem to be big producers, but the apricot and lemon trees in particular are bursting with fruit.

Wow, you sure lucked out. You will have lots of birds and raccoons competing with you for the fruit, but you can probably foil them much of the time.

We had an apple tree at the place we were renting before, and the birds got most of the fruit. I'm going to keep a careful eye on this apple tree, and be sure to pick the fruit quickly once it's ripe.

You'll probably find each type of tree has a different pruning protocol... but I'm glad you're enjoying them. I had a friend move into a house with a terrific peach tree - but she didn't like peaches and didn't have the time to pick them.
