mccoy, goth

Goth rock nostalgia has been preordered

So, you know what may have the honor of being my least-favorite Fields of the Nephilim/Nefilim song ever? "Penetration".

Guess which song the band picked to release as the full-track preview of their upcoming concert CD/DVD, Ceromonies? "Penetration".

I've still watched the clip three times in a row, and it looks gorgeous.

The release date of Ceromonies has been pushed back to March 19, thanks to a fire that broke out in the band's studio. Or, as the official website would have it, "This new date comes after an inferno which engulfed frontman Carl McCoy’s studio as he put the final touches to the project. With the damage contained and all ‘Ceromonies’ complete, it emerges from the fire into the world on March 19th." I love you, FoTN website copywriter. You're so...overwrought.

The official website also promises news of new studio recordings later this year. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that we will see a new Fields of the Nephilim studio recording by 2015. Given past history, this is reckless optimism on my part.
